Redaction works offline after install

After you install

Three steps. No cloud project, and no upload.

  1. 1

    Run the installer

It puts Video Blackout on this Windows PC. You do not need an account to finish the install.

  2. 2

Open a video from this computer

Pick a file on disk. Face and plate detection, the boxes you draw, and the exported MP4 all happen here.

  3. 3

Sign in only for a paid license

Free mode needs no account: a watermark on export, and videos up to 10 minutes. A paid plan signs in through this website and sends the license back to the PC.

What those numbers mean

Each requirement, in plain language.

Windows

10 or 11, 64-bit

Home and Pro both work. 32-bit Windows cannot run the app.

Memory

8 GB

Detection and export keep the video and the models in memory at the same time. Less than 8 GB is not enough.

Processor

A PC from the last 10 years

Intel Core processors from 2013 on (4th generation and newer), and AMD processors from about 2015 on, are supported. If the computer was bought in that window, you do not need to look up the chip.

Disk space

About 1 GB free

That covers the app. The redacted video is a new file, so leave room for the export as well.

A separate graphics card is optional. If the GPU cannot start, the app uses the processor and runs slower.

Try it first. Subscribe when you need a clean export.

Free adds a watermark and stops at 10 minutes. Basic removes the watermark and still caps each video at 10 minutes. Pro removes the watermark, processes a folder at a time, and lifts the length limit.
